Rumours abound that the Temperance Society are about to make Oamaru a “dry” town again – Oh no! The current supply of whisky will run out any day, and all further shipments have been diverted to other towns. The horror!

 

 A select group of whisky aficionados have heard tell that there are two barrels of whisky fallen overboard and were last seen bobbing around in the Oamaru Harbour.

 

Join an expedition to recover the barrels by following clues, deciphering semaphore and morse code. Naturally you will need to taste the whisky to make sure that the bounty you have rescued is indeed the GOOD whisky.  Be warned that at any time a customs officer could board and inspect the train for stolen goods. Do not let your guard down and risk revealing the delicious forbidden bounty!

 

The adventure begins with a secret password to let you on to the Itchen St Railway Station and will take you on an escapade on the Oamaru Steam and Rail train and will bring you successfully back to the station with the recovered treasure.

 

This event is essentially a whisky tasting

- set within a steampunk smugglers adventure.
